Last year I had the opportunity to implement Genius Hour in my class. I had no idea what I was doing. There were no plans, lessons or structure - just inspiration. It was messy, sloppy, unstructured, and utterly wonderful. I hate to admit that I’m not known for my flexibility and willingness to explore unchartered territory. Yet, something about Genius Hour was so appealing that I dove in. This risk paid off in the number of students who were positively affected. This, however, is not another post about my Genius Hour experience, but in my over reaction to the mess.
